Getting There

There are a few ways in which you can get to our apartment in Tignes. Below are some of the ways that we could think of:

Plane
Lyon-Satolas, Geneva-Cointrin and Grenoble international airports are most commonly used. Chambery national airport is the closest airport and has car hire or coach links. The following airlines fly to these three airports.

Please check there are suitable transfer bus links before you book your flight. All theses airports transfer direct to Tignes however, transfer buses can either get booked up or may not run early in the morning or late at night.

Train
There are daily trains and HST service to Tignes.

The EuroStar goes to Bourg-Saint Maurice and then there are regular connection by bus or taxi to Tignes.

By far the cheapest way to travel by train is to book your whole journey using the Rail Europe website link below from London St Pancras to Bourg St. Maurice. This booking will include the Eurostar to Paris and the French over night sleeper train direct to Bourg St Maurice train station where taxis and transfer buses wait to drive you the 30mins to our apartment.

This train journey involves a simple change of station in Paris. The underground stations are located in both train stations so no need to walk outside (Paris Metro Map). There are several ways to change stations -

1. Taxi
2. Taking the Orange Line 5 on the Metro direct to either possible departure stations - Gare de Lyon or Gare d'Austerlitz

3. 2 stops on the Green D RER line to Gare de Lyon. If your train departs from the Gare d'Austerlitz then do the same but follow it with a short scenic walk, well sign posted over the bridge of the Seine to Gare d'Austerlitz.

NB: The Eurostar "Snow Train" is a different thing. It is direct to Bourg St. Maurice with no change in Paris. However, it is more expensive and there are no beds, cabins or recliner seats at all!

Road
A430 Motorway from Chambery towards Albertville, dual carriageway as far as Moutiers, N90 as far as Bourg-Saint-Maurice, D902 as far as Tignes. Click here for a detailed travel map .

Ferry

The ferry goes from Dover to Calais.
